USE* deliver Time-saving Strategy for Technical Illustrations Creation

10/3/2009

Following several weeks of pilot studies, USE* Publications have convinced at least one prestigious client OEM that significant time and cost savings can be delivered in the creation of technical illustrations.

Traditional line-art graphics, created by tracing digital photographs, require expensive software and trained illustrators to carry out the work. Typically, these graphics can take around 1.5 hours to draw.

Following several weeks of pilot studies, USE* Publications are confident that a methods author will be able to produce all graphics for most technical publications applications, starting with workshop manuals. This is achieved by creating illustrations directly from CAD data when a method or procedure is created.

The pilots have confirmed that by eliminating the dialogue between the author and illustrator, as well as the long graphic creation process, it will be possible to a higher quality of graphic and maintain an outstanding average deliverable time.
